Moving from NB to S
Move up to S when NB diapers start leaking or leave marks, usually at about 4 to 5 kg. Tape diapers are most common at this age, because babies are still changed lying down. Small pants are also available for babies who wriggle.
What does "size 2" mean?
US and European brands use numbers. Size 1 fits about 4 to 6 kg and size 2 about 5 to 8 kg. In Indian sizing, both are covered by S.
How to check the S size fits
- The waistband sits just below the belly button and you can slide two fingers under it.
- The leg cuffs are pulled out, not tucked in, and leave no deep red marks.
- No leaks up the back or at the sides after a normal wear.
Leaks, red marks or tapes that barely reach the front mean it is time to move up a size.
S diaper size: common questions
Is S the same as size 2?
Roughly. Size 2 (about 5 to 8 kg) falls within the Indian S size (3 to 8 kg).
When should my baby move from S to M?
When they reach about 7 to 8 kg, or if S diapers leak or leave red marks.
